Google Entertainment Space is a one-stop, personalized home for all your favorite movies, shows, games and books. Once a user signs in to subscription apps (Netflix, YouTube etc.) Entertainment Space will show all of their content in one place, tailored specifically for each individual.

My role included IxD of each component and transition, accompanied with detailed design specs for our engineering team. I was also responsible for developing prototypes that won business with Walmart and Lenovo.

Scroll function

Given the large third party provider libraries, it was important to develop a scrolling function that maintained the correct categorical branding.

Entry Point

Quick access was critical to user re-engagement. For this reason we designed the open app function so users can simply swipe to open Entertainment Space directly from the tablet home screen.

Connecting / Loading

A bespoke animation designed to reduce perceived latency and inform users of what is happening in the background, e.g. connecting your subscription to Entertainment Space.

User login

Early design stages required deep thinking regarding the “sign in” flow due to the unique framework of Entertainment Space’s connection to third party subscriptions.
